California Poppy

Add a dose of bright color to poor, sandy soils by growing California poppy! It is California's state flower. California poppies are a self-seeding colorful wildflower. The cheery eye-popping flowers ignite the meadow or garden and make for fiery cut bouquets. At night or in cold, windy weather, the flowers close. Easy to grow, drought-tolerant plants are a favorite for use in rock gardens, mixed beds, and naturalized settings. Add heaps of color to your garden by growing Ballerina Mix. If you prefer something more elegant and delicate, we suggest growing Purple Gleam or White Linen. California poppies are a cool season annual. Plants do not transplant well and if the soil is too rich and moist, they won’t bloom well.
