Summary

Buttercrunch is an extremely popular butterhead lettuce. Soft, buttery-textured green leaves are crisp and juicy. Leaves are loosely held on big heads. While the leaves are tasty, the best part is the heart of loosely folded leaves and thick, crisp, tender ribs. Buttercrunch is slow to bolt and far more heat-tolerant than most other varieties of lettuce. Its delicious taste and high performance made it the 1963 AAS (All-American Selections) winner.
