Originally called HP22B, the Carolina Reaper is currently one of the hottest peppers in the world. The average heat level is 1,569,300 SHU. Peppers are bright red with bumpy skin and a long stinger. Even though this pepper was bred for heat, it has excellent flavor as well. It is said that the Carolina Reaper is the most flavorful out of all the super hot peppers. The flavor is described as sweet and fruity with chocolate undertones. Carolina Reaper can be used in salsas, sauces, and chili.
