Summary
Measuring in at over 1 million SHU, the Bhut Jolokia is one of the world's hottest chili peppers. In 2007, it was crowned the worlds hottest pepper. Other names for this pepper include Ghost Pepper and Naga Jolokia. Originating in India, the Bhut Jolokia was introduced to the West in the year 2000. The peppers themselves are 2 to 3 inches long, bright red, and somewhat wrinkled. They can either be used fresh or dried, with many people turning the pepper into a powder to use as a spice. Caution must be used when handling these peppers.
