Dill's Atlantic Giant was introduced in 1978 by Howard Dill of Nova Scotia. This squash-type pumpkin is known for setting records. The current record holder weighs over 2,000 pounds. Typically these pumpkins will only reach several hundred pounds, and that is with the proper growing methods. Giant pumpkins are pink-orange, rough-skinned, and heavily ribbed.
