Summary

Extrakta is an improved high-yielding variety of common sage. It was specifically improved for commercial essential oil production. Leaves have high essential oil content of 1.5 to 2.0%. Extrakta is a shrubby evergreen perennial with gray-green leaves and spikes of blue to purplish flowers. Leaves are used to flavor sauces, dressings, and meats. Medicinal wise it is used as a tonic for the nerve and digestive systems.
